Are you suggesting that we kill and/or relocate all the locals and take up residence in Afghanistan? If not, there is no relevance to be found in a parallel to our own nation....

You may relinquish your property back to the indigenous people any time.

Perhaps not the one you intended, but it is the other side of the point you made.

Iraq to take control of its armed forces

On a related issue, Iraq is taking a big step toward independence today when its prime minister gains direct control of the military. The U.S. military is calling it a "huge, significant event." The United States formally handed over control of Iraq's new military to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's government, and is hailing it as a "gigantic" milestone toward the eventual withdrawal of about 150,000 U.S.-led foreign troops in Iraq. Now that is progress!

Don't believe everything you think

Yes, but not the relevant point -- that being that there is no parallel whatsoever between these disparate events. You're the only one who seems to get it.

It is silly, but you're the one who made the connection.

Sorry, didn't get that. I am following the example of some or our esteemed members, and am in the middle of perfecting the ostrich maneuver.
