IMOP illegal labor dilutes and lowers the earning potential of the lower ranks in American society. It makes the poor even poorer. The ever growing pool of illegal labor is harmful in the long run. For example, when was the last time you saw an American house painter? Or have a look at other service related companies. If you need to paint your house you can get a great deal, but is that really good for the Country or the economy? The garment and other industries in Los Angeles would collapse without illegals. Those workers are not being paid a 'living wage.' Some illegal workers in LA car washes work on tips only! Larger industries like construction or meat packing make the extra profits, while the taxpayer has to deal with all the resulting social costs, from education to health care. The prevailing attitude seems to be to ignore the problem. After all there might be future voters out there. Other Countries have dealt with the same problem.
