Very likeable guy. He gave 'never a dull moment' new meaning. Sorry to hear of his passing.

Yep, his Zoo is just down the road from me.

There is much wailing and gnashing of teeth on the media here.

Me, I think he was a media tart, but I feel for his young family and he did do good things for the environment.

He was always much bigger in the US than over here, may have had something to do with his wife, may have had something to do with the fact that Aussies like to pull down anyone who they feel gets too big for their boots.

Most thought he was a wanker.

Still, a young age to die but he went doing what he loved. Can't ask for more than that.

The worst bit is every channel is now running reruns of any interviews/shows they had with him in it.

'In honour'.

My kids loved that guy both on the Discovery channel and Disney's "Wiggles". It was only a matter of when.......not if.

He was popular here.

I can't understand how he got the sting in the chest.Normally those guys would sting your foot if you trod on them.
Have your news reports explained the circumstances?

Well he was known for doing things like poking a lion in the eye with his finger and saying,"C'mon little fella', let's see the teeth then?" He was probably hanging off the thing and going for a ride.

^^^^^^

Exactly! I imagine he would have had to be doing something dumb to get a sting to pierce his heart-but shit happens.
