News Paper Restoration

Wow, my wife found bits of news papers in the walls that she was tearing up. They date back from 1943 (I think there was a restoration done on our house at that time). They were crumpled up and would simply turn to dust when touched. I figured the paper was dried up so I put it in a strainer on top of boiling water but with a paper towel shieding the paper from direct contact with the steam. I put the whole contraption in the microwave and let the steam stay in a confined chamber of sort. An hour later I had pieces of news paper that opened and were as good as new.
Well as you can imagine the war in Europe was the biggest topic. I will read the bits in more detail tomorrow.

You might want to try some more recent sources for your news.

Although, admittedly, its a tossup whether CNN today is more relevent than a 60 year old newspaper....

boo reminds me of an old Hall and Oates song. "Out of Touch" it is of course.

Oftentimes, we live in a processed world—you know, people focus on the process and not results

Some time ago I was given a number of 1930's to 40's National Geographic. Made for some great reading.

Somewhere between then and now, the residents of this great nation have shed their reading and writing skills in wholesale fashion. Probably in exchange for a Gameboy.

Ok boo you had to turn this post into another political "debate" by attacking my reading methodology
