Pilot stuck in toilet

Our local newspaper reported that a pilot was stuck in a toilet for 10 minutes on Air Canada flight from Winipeg to Ottawa. This incident happened 30 minutes before final approach an landing at Ottawa airport. He used the intercom inside the toilet to ask for help and how to open the toilet door. After they manage to do that he return to the cockpit a couple of minutes before landing the plane.

There was only 50 passengers on that flight and they did not know about it.

Not to wipe.... Checklist is needed to remind them to wipe.

Nah the toilet had the wrong configuartion and the auto flush an lock was on thus bypassing any manual input. To override he would have known about procedure 134B from manual B34 on page 15 followed by a user manual in appendix C of workbook 23M.

Don't they have a simulator exercise for that emergency?

Of course the simulator would have to be able to realistically depict the emergency. (ODOR)... Then there would be different sims for different a/c. Boeing, Airbus, etc. The CRJ and Embraer models would have to be proportionately smaller as well.

That's what I am talking about. How about the ODOR itself? can we make it so we will know the airline based on the food that got processed?
How about a sim algorithm for overflow? or hand/arm stuck in the hole?
