Elau it could be true, Arabs have not shown great courage in the battlefields at least in the last couple centuries.

I recall seeing pictures of scores of shoes left in the sand from the Egyptian retreat.

Here's a description from "The Dallas Morning News", Friday, June 9, 1967.

Tanks, Shoes Litter Area as Arabs Flee
By JOSEPH W. GRIGG

EL ARISH, Egyptian Sinai (UPI) – The Israeli captain looked around the abandoned Egyptian outpost and said “most of them just took off their shoes and ran.

Why no shoes?

“Apparently they find it easier to run in the thick desert sand without them,” the captain said.

The desert around El Arish was littered with shoes, trucks and tanks left behind by the fleeing Arabs.

SOME OF THEM, who didn’t run fast enough lay on their faces in a barbed wire prisoner pen, guarded by Israeli sentries with sub-machineguns.

One truckload of confused Egyptians had driven straight into an Israeli mechanized unit before dawn Monday, shouting “greetings, you must be the Iraqi unit sent to reinforce us.”

They all wound up behind the barbed wire.

A fire fight was still going on near El Arish, a sandy way station on the single track railroad between Gaza and the Suez Canal. On Monday it had been one of the main Egyptian army and air bases on the Sinai Peninsula.

THE RATTLE of machinegun fire could still be heard a mile ahead. An Israeli mortar lobbed an occasional round out of El Arish. Israeli armor and infantry waited nonchalantly for the fire fight to end before moving forward again.

The Israeli captain had just come out of combat and was waiting to go again. His infantry outfit formed part of one Israeli spearhead that stabbed out of the Negev Desert Monday, struck towards the Mediterranean, cut off Arab units in the Gaza Strip and slashed towards El Arish and the canal.

David, the captain – Israeli army regulations do not permit more complete identification – said there were few officers among the captured or dead Egyptian here.

“Most of the officers simply jumped into their cars and headed south, leaving their men to fend for themselves,” he said.

David is a regular Israeli army officer now, but he worked for several years on a communal farm before joining. He is tough, wiry and burned deep bronze by the desert sun. He speaks good English.

DAVID SAID the Egyptians offered heavy resistence at some points. But he said they were exception.

The road to El Arish was strewn with burned-out Egyptian tanks, trucks and every other kind of
military hardware. Almost all was of Russian origin.

What did he think of the Egyptian soldier, David was asked.

“The equipment is better than the soldiers,” was his blunt comment.

Here and there along the road lay Egyptian bodies which the advancing Israelis had not had time to collect and take away. They lay in the hot desert sun with the debris of the beaten army.

What the Hell kind of stupid statement is that? How does Bush figure into this kind of thing?....
From what I see your comment is just more drive by bullcrap because you can't think for yourself.
