Did you see old Hugo C. in Havana yesterday hugging and kissing Fidel, who is on his death bed? All those dictators hang together! Castro is the only one among them honest enough not to pretend he is "democratically elected."

I didn't see that Jayhawk, but thanks for the info.

I think Castro began as a revolutionary and overthrew Battista, a definite dictator and american puppet. Today, since that is such a closed society, we (the general public) don't know much about what goes on a mere 90 miles from Florida. I think it is safe to say that Castro is a russian puppet though.

However, I think the average cuban is better off under Castro's version of communism than he was when Battista was in power. What revenue they lost when he virtually eliminated the tourism industry, was regained by the russian-subsidized sugar cane crop. I don't know what impact their fine cigars and rum have in the general economic scheme.

One thing I've always admired about Fidel is that I think he remains a "people's president" without a palace, limousines, and those sorts of things.

If any of my comments are incorrect, someone please correct me, because I'd like to learn more about the current situation there.

ROTF, I've been recently accused of being an anti-Semitic fascist, now I'm preparing myself to be branded as a commie.

Regards,
Musikmann

Didn't I see Castro on a list of the world's 10 richest men recently?

I think you need to take off those rose-colored commie glasses and try a little reality. But I don't think you are a commie... Try this if you are...

Do you really think dictators of closed societies will let anyone know what they have stashed away? Get real!

Another generous and wise thing that Castro does is, at his own expense, send political opposition for extended vacations at state-sponsored resorts.

It was obviously a projection, and they stated the vairiables, though I can't recall the details...
