I have felt for a long time that homosexuals of either sex have had some sort of hormonal mixup in the womb. Too much testosterone produced when a developing female's brain is forming sexual orientation, or conversely, too much estrogen produced when a developing male's brain is doing the same.
Sounds simple, doesn't it? I have taken embryology and genetics, and they are not simple. I had a hard time getting a passing grade in both of these subjects, but a little of each stuck with me.
Whether you like homosexuals or not, the fact remains that they make up approximately 10% of the world's population. They are a force to be reckoned with, and it would take a fool to claim that they have been of no benefit to society. Should we mention Leonardo da Vinci first, or would you rather begin the discussion with Tchaikovsky? Either way, I think you get my point.
Somewhere in the 1970's the American Psychiatric Association (not sure that's the exact name) pronounced that gay people did not have a mental disease.
My closing comment is this: homosexuals have been among us for centuries, but until fairly recently, they have remained "in the closet". Friends, they are not going away, so we had better get used to interacting with them.
Rant closed for now,
