And for the record - my sig is usually a reminder to myself more than anything.
You're right: This is nothing to get worked up about. Take a deep breath and enjoy the scenery.

The Iraqi people just went to the polls in droves to approve a constitution and elect a new government! Give them a chance. Look how many years it took us (U.S.) to get it together, and even then we still had a civil war. Iraq may some day have a civil war, but people like this Lasseter just can't wait for it to actually happen. They want to help it along, just to "prove" that President Bush was "wrong."

I still doubt that a civil war is likely, let alone under way. Many of you desperately want one, just to "prove" the United States is "wrong." Get a grip!
A good bit of the world press and world leaders have been saying Iraq is already at Civil War since April. Just because the WH and Fox does not say so does not mean it did not happen. WAIT, FOX DID SAY SO!! Several times, over the past few weeks.

It's not all Iraqi citizens that are fighting. You have to appreciate the amount of people that came from Iran, Syria, Afghanistan and other countries to fight the US on open ground. There is a great deal of misinformation out there. People still believe that Bin Laden and Hussein were working together (despite the fact that unclassified intel shows that Bin Laden viewed Hussein as a threat to the nation of Islam, as indicated during the first Gulf War).

What's going on is more of a case of retaliation between religious groups than actual civil war. The only reason it's being called civil war is that westerners can't understand the religious weight that's carried, and that the victor will likely control the Iraqi government. That's really the key... our definition of "Civil" is based on our political/economic/moral belief system. Their "Civil" is religious. It's just a different definition than ours.

I've seen people drop down on the sidewalk, in stores and even in a doorway to pray. Their convictions are just a little beyond our Sunday Communion.

Again… if it were this simple to understand, there wouldn’t be so many arguments. Sorry if I came off harshly. I’m just sick of so many (other) people who cannot admit that it’s simply too complex to be figured out on a damn internet forum.
Very good explanation. This is why we participate in this little sandbox. Everyone gets an opportunity to learn and then share.

But some people (mc...) can never learn anything because they already know it all... Just ask them!
