Of course Hezbollah has won the PR war. When the world consists of rogue nations like Iran and Syria and nations like France who are anxious to undermine America's role that comes as no surprise.
Hey, what they do is understandably unreasonable to us. We would like to think we and our allies don't do that kind of heartless crap when we invade countries. But quit whining about it. It sounds so, well, childish. This is not a game for them. It is for their survival. They have no interest in earning your respect, they want to slit your throat, or, possibly more desireable, never know you existed, by any means or evidence.

We are chest deep in the foulest smelling shit - all of our own making. No one wants to come near us because we fucking smell exactly like that shit. Complaining that they made us make the shit and then stand in it up to our chests when we bill ourselves as the last remaining superpower in the world, the most generous nation in the history of mankind, the bringers of democracy to the oppressed, and then getting rolled in the alley of world opinion as we flounder in Iraq and now Afghanistan is just plain incredible to the rest of the world. France, and I am generally predisposed from my experiences with the French from living in Germany in the 1960's to find them pompous and self centered, is no more guilty of putting French interests ahead of US interests than we are of putting US interests ahead of French interests. Get over it. Jim

My point is that one dead baby = dozens of staged pictures for the media = images in thousands of newspapers around the world = millions of enraged muslims.

Is this responsible journalism?

See my response above.

What did you think of my earlier proposal?

But they can afford 10,000 missles???!!!

This a private militia?

Do you know of any other private militias that have this kind of arsenal?

Iran can't afford uniforms for them or is it that they prefer to function outside the bounds of the geneva convention by wearing civilian clothing?

Think about something along those lines, not how we are going to kill them.
Iran is arming them. Syria is just providing transportation and logistical support. I have heard people suggest talking to Syria before and I have absolutely no problem with that. Of course talk to anyone who will negotiate.

There's going to be a prisoner swap with hezbollah after the guns fall silent. Count on it. Israel has always done asymetrical trades in order to get their soldiers back. Not only is it the ethical thing to do it also fosters loyalty among the military who know that Israel will do absolutely everything in their power to return them home should they be captured on the battlefield.

Are you really that worried about their weapons? Their missiles are not accurate nor powerful let's be real here Boo
The only real military uniform is the Lebanese's army but that army is emasculated because we never gave it a real chance to take over. It's our fault and we are paying for it and Lebanese people are paying for it even more.

Stay focused, Iran can be shunted too. They are busy with their own problems and the nuclear issue over their head can be used as leverage to keep them salivating while this plan is put in place and implemented as quickly as possible. Once Syria agrees to play along bye bye Iran, they will not be missed.

Now that brings up an interesting point. Had Israel not invaded and pressed the issue what kinds of missles would Hezbollah have gotten from Iran and how much more deadly would this conflict be had it been delayed several more years?

Surely the Katushas are primitive weapons but what about that silkworm missle that destroyed the Israeli warship? I saw brief images of that ship limping to port with smoke billowing high in the air. Israel has suppressed images and information about this deadly hit.

And Hezbollah has some Fajr 3 and 5 missles several of which they have already used.

What's next? Hezbollah armed with tactical nuclear weapons supplied by Iran?

This crises, if it results in the disarming of hezbollah and a decrease in Iranian influence, notwithstanding the terrible civilian toll, may turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
