I agree with you 100%. The thought of a possible Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon axis is frightening. Syria might be easier, but who has the balls to go after Iran.

You're free to disagree with his conclusion that this was a tragic accident but that in no way casts any ambiguity into who was responsible for the bombing of the marine barracks and slaughter of our servicemen in Beruit in 1983. I was simply responding to those who maintained that hezbollah was no enemy of the U.S. and that Israels fight was not ours as well.

In fact it's a fight for the benefit of the entire free world.
Is that why our president is using his wisdom to look the other way while the Lebanese are being slaughtered? I don't see a benefit in having Lebanon as a scapegoat baby boo. Yes I know it's Hezbollah, it's all about Hezbollah but I think Lebanon was making strides to bring them under control. A few months ago that was the strategy on the table or was that a bluff by our administration to not cast a suspicion on what was planned for them?

It gets a bit confusing on who is the master, and who the puppet.

Iran supports, trains, funds and arms Hezbollah in Lebanon because it wants to establish a Shiite theocracy there who can do Tehran's bidding (and fight Tehran's proxy wars) without getting their hands "dirty". I'm very skeptical that Lebanon actually had the will to disarm them. In fact I'm skeptical of the assertion that the 80,000 man strong Lebanese army is unable to defeat the 8,000 man hezbollah forces if they really wanted to. Just as Israel is making (the unwise) decision (IMO) not to confront them in force on the battlefield hoping that air power will suceed so, too, the Lebanese made a decision to avoid yet another bloody fracticidal civil war needed to disarm them.

By the way I agree with you on the answer to my question: largely #4 with the other answers being of secondary importance.

It's also weird that the cessation of activities is effective immediately, although there is heavy Israeli air activity at this moment. I can hear them right now, they are very very loud.

This is turning point in my opinion. It does have to end the hostilities, but it has an effect on them.
Not really , the bombing is still on Israeli never stick to their words .

Now they are saying on ly the airstrikes will be ceased for 48 houres ( maybe their pilots are tired from bombing civilians for 19 days and needs a rest ) , while the artilliary is still sending their bombs with message from innocent cute girls .

So much for the theory of land for peace, eh?
Hizbollah are fighting over their native land , they are resistance not terrorists .

By the way Israel was forced to leave by 2000 as they are nto that strong when it comes to fight on ground .

The Elite division G 51 of the Golani Platoon who is said to be the most trained and have the highest readiness for ground fights has been exterminated when they entered few Kilometers into the Lebanese land , although they are backed up by war planes and tanks

It's funny how some of us pledge to never forget Israel's attack on the The Liberty during the 1967 war but develop amnesia when it comes to Hezbollah's bombing of the marine bacrracks in Beruit in 1983 that killed several hundered of our servicemen.

Airline hijackings, the muder of an American Navy diver and the torture and murder of the CIA station chief in Beruit don't count I guess. There has never been payback for these crimes.
If Hezbollah had built a Marine barracks in Houston, I would have bombed their fucking ass too, moron. The problem isn't them - it's us.
