Both of my brothers are very intelligent. Alas, they're both straight (one even has SIX kids!!!). Although one is a hairdresser, so he could go either way...

Yes. Very true. They are neighbors and very good people, and they know my stance. He's a pastor at a local mega church. For some reason, they (mostly she) cannot fathom that some people are uncomfortable with wide eyed, persistently smiling, homies of Christ spittin' out the Jesus-spiel.
The grooms people were normal folk and visibly uncomfortable. I couldn't care less about peoples beliefs or even their p.d.a. toward Christ, I just take umbrage when they try to suck everyone else into their bizarre fantasy world.

Thanks for that...

Your narcissistic God needing praise is sick.
As if a father would put his child in a river and demand he beg to be saved with magic words.
Your God is a dick.

[QUOTE=Zeitgeist]So, I got to thinking...if god is an omnipotent all-powerful entity, why did he/she/it need to procreate to produce a son? Couldn't the son's job tasks be fulfilled by deep commanding voices booming down from the heavens or yer run of the mill burning bush and whatnot? Instead of teaching humans all these humiliating lessons like the big flood and Sodom and Gomorrah, why not just flip a switch at the macro level, which would fix the various flaws once and for all? Sunday school kids everywhere should be asking these sorts of questions.

I rejected god as soon as I realised it was a sadistic fucker with a poorly developed sense of humour. And because I really liked a lie-in on Sundays.

All knowing and all powerful. And after Noah's flood, he knew that all the evil people were gone. What a goof. So, is he not all knowing, or not all powerful?

And then he promised never to destroy the world again by flood.
But, like "Chocolate" Ray Nagin said, "He sent us hurricane after hurricane after hurricane and it's destroyed and put stress on this country. Surely He's not approval of us..."

So, not all knowing, or not all powerful? Maybe he just forgot about these parts of the world? So, not all remembering. Maybe God has ADD?
