Here is my take. The US wanted to open a front with Iran but given that everyone in the world is looking at us like the kid that cried wolf, why not open it by proxy? Have our ally Israel invade Lebanon, draw Syria into it which will obviously bring Iran into the game as well.
I am starting to think that Harriri's murder was orchestrated to get the Syrians out of Lebanon for an eventual invasion as it is unfolding right now. The fact that Israel is attacking without any concerns about worldwide reaction just certifies that they had a green light from us to move for the kill. This is also the case with the Gaza strip where Israel had removed the settlers for an eventual collective punishment of the Palestinians at any opportunity without major risks. The strip will remain the battering or punching bag for Israel whenever it feels threatened by Palestinians from that side or even the West Bank. If this theory holds then I must admit that this was an excellently crafted strategy for Israel to either penetrate other Middle Eastern territories under the guise of punishing anyone that challenges it either through force or even intent.
Syria so far has proven that it is full of hot air so I will dismiss any real threats from them since they no longer have hold of strategic positions in southern Lebanon. They have been outmaneuvered and all it took was the killing of Al Harriri. I am now certain that it was not Syria that was involved in his murder. The unfortunate situation here is that Lebanon was showing great strides towards democracy after that event and after many years of civil war this was a chapter from which they felt that they finally had a break. Alas, the ouster of Syria albeit a good thing it actually was the results of a planned scheme that now will be the demise of Lebanon. What surprises me is that not many countries are stepping up to stop this madness and secure the Lebanese a real future where democracy could flourish and hopefully that in itself could have been the demise of Hamas or other terrorists that jockey into the political and social fabrics of Lebanon. Unfortunate Lebanon will be just a card that would be sacrificed by the “big players” so the US can flex its muscles on Iran and show them who’s the daddy.
I got it, the USA wants to start more wars and so they got the Israelis to fake the capture of several of their soldiers and also to fake the launching of rockets into israel.. Heck, the Israelis are probably faking suicide bombers, too. Bin Laden was a jew. It's all clear to me now. Leiberman and Cheney are sure crafty.

Where did I say or insinuate that Israel faked the kidnapping of its soldiers? I have noticed that you Bot on this forum whenever you want to counter you first carpet bomb then back pedal once you are “owned” and try to play it like you were misunderstood or something. I can cite many cases, let me know if you want me to bring them up.
My point is clear and I am not siding anyone other than my dismay for a missed opportunity for real peace in the Middle East by making sure that Lebanon becomes a model Arab state. Was there something wrong with that Bot? Should democracy be the realm of your choosing based on your dislike of Arabs? (Don’t tell me you don’t dislike them Bot, we know your stance).
