See, that's the rub with this outfit, the PLO and Hamas. The Israelis have every right to protect themselves. But their long-term inability to recognize that Israel's actions are counter-productive in the long run. Continually punishing people is just not a worthwhile long-term strategy for peace and prosperity.
Israel needs to make a stronger effort to support development of a growing economy where the Palestinians live and likewise to encourage Lebanese democratic and economic aspirations. Yes, Israel should unapologetically defend herself against attacks by her enemies. That is what any state must do to protect her borders and people. But relentless violence is not going to breed future friends.
London-based Arabic language newspaper Al-Hayat says Israel gave Syria 72 hours to stop Hizbullah’s activity, bring about release of kidnapped IDF troops. ‘Israel will not end military activity until new situation created that will prevent Syria, Iran from using terror organizations to threaten its security,’ newspaper quotes Pentagon official as saying.

The London-based Arabic language newspaper Al-Hayat reported Saturday that “Washington has information according to which Israel gave Damascus 72 hours to stop Hizbullah’s activity along the Lebanon-Israel border and bring about the release the two kidnapped IDF soldiers or it would launch an offensive with disastrous consequences.”
The report said “a senior Pentagon source warned that should the Arab world and international community fail in the efforts to convince Syria to pressure Hizbullah into releasing the soldiers and halt the current escalation Israel may attack targets in the country.”
Al-Hayat quoted the source as saying that “the US cannot rule out the possibility of an Israeli strike in Syria,” this despite the fact that the Bush administration has asked Israel to “refrain from any military activity that may result in civilian casualties.”
'Hizbullah made the same mistake'
The report also mentioned that President George W. Bush has repeatedly put much of the blame for the recent escalation on Syria.
“It is no coincidence that the Hizbullah operation comes at a time when the international community is working to impose sanctions on Iran due to its nuclear program and settle the score with Syria by establishing an international court to try those behind the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri,” the Pentagon source said.
According to the source, Hizbullah made the same mistake as Hamas when it did not predict the ramifications of its actions and ignored the regional and international changes since the fall of Saddam Hussein.
The source said that Israel has indicated that it “will not end its military activity until a new situation is created that will prevent Syria and Iran from using terror organizations, such as Hamas and Hizbullah, to threaten its security.”
Short-term!!!!! Huh!!!!
Lebanon has been suffering from this since 1948. I assure you the effects of all this are longer-termed than you think. Besides, you can't remove Hezbollah (or the disease as you describe it). Hezbollah is part of the Lebanese people, representing over 20% of the people. It's like saying: "well yeah, let's remove the Republicans or the Democrats". This is not realistic. The solution for Hezbollah is to lay down its arms. And that what Prime Minister Siniora was trying to do. He was trying to convince Hezbollah to lay down his arms, claiming that Israel is not a threat to Lebanon anymore. Look what’s happening now; Hezbollah is convinced more than ever convinced that Israel is a threat to Lebanon. And now he has all the Lebanese including Siniora agreeing with him, thanks to Israel.
"Thanks to Israel!?" Who the hell started that "invasion?" Who the hell killed and kidnapped the Israeli soldiers? I think it is you, my friend, who need to get a reality check. If Israel cannot completely excise that cancer, they need to at least render it benign! Are you really so blind that you cannot see that Hesbolah started this to destabilize Lebanon and the whole ME? Please don't let your short-term view obscure your long-term best interests. I think Lebanon has moved significantly toward a democratic society since 1984, and support your government. But if you think a bunch of terrorists have a right to screw you people to the wall, you are mistaken; and that mentality will get you killed if you are not careful! Get a grip man, while you are still alive...

And perhaps you should save this argument for another day. You know, like a day when the person you're arguing with isn't in mortal fear of being killed by the very bombardment you're defending. What is your vocation again?
I see that the brain washing campaign has worked on you or you are simply as clueless as a doorknob. Not even Sliver Arrow who is a native of that area has called for the destruction of Israel, as matter of fact he clearly stated his dismay at the abduction of the Israeli soldiers. This I hope should explain to you that not all people from that region even under duress think like you do, you know what I mean like in a binary format.
Anyway, I am not kissing some terrorist butt nor should we do that; however, we must recognize injustice and remedy what was wrongly done. It takes courage to admit that we are wrong which is completely different from being a traitor.
Chew on this a bit, maybe you will wise up but then again I have been proven that once someone thinks he is ABSOLUTLY right there is nothing you can do to bring them to reality. Good luck!
You are a total jackass, and it's your lowbrow mentality that gets innocent people killed. But then what the hell do you care?

It is this point in a person's life that they listen best!

OPEN YOUR EARS!!!
Does the expression "insensitive boob" do anything for you? How 'bout we hurl a few mortar rounds toward your house and see how well you listen while you're ducking for cover.....
