I think we have gone over this before. I gathered there was a difference between organized religion, and the people dedicated to that, and the concept of God before I decided God was a bad idea. I see no conflict between science and the existence of God. I object to the power brokering of humans who pit God against science and visa versa. It should not be viewed by any religion that a scientific explanation of any natural phenomena is a threat to the concept of God existing. And, likewise, no scientific theory needs to deny God's existence to be proven or disproven by the scientific method. So cut the shit. Jim

Good points and mercifully succinct.

Man invented god to explain his world and his place in it.

It's a BIG SCARY place when you think there isn't someone ultimately in charge of everything.

Religion is like a drug. Easier to be comfortably deluded than to see the world under the bright light of reason and clarity of reality.

Easier to be "a child of god" or consider yourself a "pawn" that is not really responsible for your own life than being a responsible adult and in charge of your own life and happiness. Man needs to "grow up" and stop seeing himself as
helpless. To believe it, is to own it. To own it, is to live it.
