Certainly this commentary is appropriate for an off-topic area, but if you're going to engage in an intellectual discussion, you should at least appear to meet the criteria of being an intellectual.

I don't let the bleeding heart liberals define the democratic party any more than you (or anyone else) should allow the religious right to define the republican party. For every scumbag on the right, I'm sure I can find at least one on the left. I'm a conservative, and largely vote republican - that said, evangelicals and people on the religious right don't speak for me. I can infer from your post that you are liberal, and probably vote democrat - I hope the Alan Colmes of the world don't speak for you...of course, unless you're in porn or prostitution, he wouldn't speak for you anyway.

No offense, but It's interesting for people who have lived in Countries with political parties across a wide spectrum to see Americans argue on how fudamentally different the two political parties are. You have a center with sprikles to the left of it, and the right of center that is in power right now. Nobody seems to be interested in a viable third party to keep many of the current self satisfied politicians on their toes in a better system of checks and balances. Why would the parties want direct elections when they can keep an electoral college.

I would love to see a third or fourth party included but so far they have only proved to be a spoiler and not have a positive impact. 08 may be the first year for a viable party if it is not run by a over the top candidate like last time.

Well said! Although I would add that we can probably find at least two scumbags on the left for every one on the right.

Hey, I'll see your Ed Kennedy and raise you two Pat Robertson's and one Jerry Falwell. DPB echoes what I hear from a lot of people who are fed up with the GOP - you don't just have a few kooks running around the place, your kooks are running the joint.

You know, you post some crude homophobe humor, and then in the next post you give this holier than thou guy QBNCGAR, kudos, when you are no different from DBP. You're as crude as he is. Of course, I doubt if we will hear your Republican buddy bitch at your ass, too.
