I don't know if there are any lawyers on board but here's a question for you...
My cousin Steven was to accept his promotion at a CVS store to a district manager position. He was supposed to start next week however....
Some jackass in an SUV broad-sided his car yesterday and mangled his arm which he had allowed to hang out his window while driving. It's broken and he will require plastic surgery due to the skin being torn off. It was a pretty hard hit he took.
Now he's worried that since he won't be available to accept the position which needs to be filled soon, he will lose the opportunity. Is that legal? Can they discriminate against him due to an accident? I don't believe his job will require lifting but he will be out of work for a while due to his injuries.
What say you?
