Any regime unable to control the Media is doomed to fail eventually, but when will that be? The Mullahs of the Iranian Kleptocracy appear to be nervous. Iran is one of the Countries whose citizens need an exit visa to leave, and Dubai is one of the few places Iranians can easily get an entry visa for and travel to. For the last six month massive amounts of Iranian money has been pouring into Dubai. My friends there tell me that some Iranians are buying up to 200 condos at a time. Ex president Rafsanjani owns billion dollar projects there, including a mall with an indoor ski slope. The Tuman is not free convertible and only people high up can take money out of Iran. When it comes to Iraq, a form of Goverment we might be able to call Democracy is not likely. At best we can hope for a kind of 'centralized Democracy' a la Singapore, at worst another Islamic Republic if Iran has its wish. Another risk is the very real possibility of Iraq splitting up of into separate Countries between the Kurds in the north, the Sunnis in the center, and the Shia in the South. Imagine what that would do to oil prices. The U.S. has put itself into a situation where it cannot just pull out and leave a power vacuum. Out of such a vacuum we might see a leadership worse than Saddam. Teutone (aka Horst K)
