Road rage - allow me to vent
Somebody wanted to run me off the road today. First he cut me off, and this was on the freeway (91E, nowhere near LA!). And mind you, this was no simple swerving, but an intentional cut off. I guess he drove to the point that I got into his blind spot, and proceeded to swerve lanes. But this realization only came after.
Anyway, I honked at him, both my dad and I "scolded" him. It was obvious, he was at fault. But he did not want to get his ego bruised, so he got pissed off, gave me the finger. I just let that pass so I just tried to move forward but he seemed to want to get in the lane I was merging into, and was forced to move behind me. So I kept moving and switched to the rightmost lane, so I could slow down and let him pass (there was traffic around us).
But no, he kept on my tail and wanted to really smell my diesel exhaust. So I slowed down to 60/55mph to force him to pass (what can I do?). So he got the message and passed me, BUT he immediately cut me off into my lane and braked in front of me--to show me he's the boss. He braked so hard I saw his car swerving left and right while the nose dove down. I knew he was going to do that so I prepared by already braking when he passed me, angrily.
Instead of staying behind I passed him to avoid any more confrontation, and the fact that he might just stop dead and let me slam into him. But no, he proceeded to cut me off again while I was to his left and this was near the Beach Blvd/Brookhurst exit. I just slowed down and let him speed away.
The two times he passed me inches from my bumper could have led to him spinning out should his rear bumper touch my front. It was like he imposed a near PIT maneuver on himself because I was just driving straight. You could tell he did not want to give in and still wanted to have the last word, but he couldn't because he was clearly wrong and we were in the right lane, trying to avoid any more confrontation. He was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
It was a gold/silver Dodge Stratus/Intrepid. If anybody saw this, kindly let me know. There was a good amount of traffic and people saw this, but my dad was on the phone and I was too focused on avoiding any confrontation so I did not take his license plate down.
