The big question here is whether you work for a company or are self employed. If you are an employee in the E.U., you work a maximum of 40 hrs. per week, have 30 days of paid holliday a year (beside the many national hollidays), are covered under a national health plan, and cannot be terminated without a period of notice. In the U.S. you would have to manage without most of these automatic benefits, and fluency in English would be a basic requirement ( no offense ). There should be U.S. publications for your field that can give you a better idea about working here. Good luck and greetings to your beautiful Islands and my friends in Las Palmas.
