Must be a big entry door on her home...

Interesting...apparently gaming businesses in Ohio can keep dangerous animals? Whatever happened to zoos staffed by people who know what they're doing?

500-Pound Bear Breaks Into Home, Attacks Woman

May 23, 2006

ORWELL, Ohio -- A state wildlife officer said a 500-pound bear that escaped from a northeast Ohio commercial gaming business on Monday entered a neighboring home and attacked a woman.

Reno Reda of the state Department of Natural Resources said the owner of Grand River Fur Exchange in Hartsgrove Township was attempting to enter the bear's cage to clean it Monday when the animal escaped.

Reda said the bear attacked 36-year-old Rachel Supplee, who received multiple injuries. He said she was stable and in satisfactory condition Monday night at a Youngstown hospital.

The bear's owner lured it out of the woman's home and shot and killed it, Reda said. No charges have been filed and the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Office is reviewing the matter, Reda said.
