Personally, I believe he was capable of both. The lad was no dunce, but his loathing of Bush was overwhelming at times (and that from someone who basically loathes Bush). Do you believe that he believed everything he posted?

Seven weeks after he resigns, this thread is still alive. Astonishing. If anyone else on this forum posted a similar cyber-suicide message, it would have long since died. Each ensuing post is a testament to his legacy, good, bad or indifferent...

Be careful GS, you may trigger a trend here through your observation...

Of course he is capable of both, that was the point of posting the essay.

Does he believe everything he posts? I sure hope not, but that's for him to answer, not me.

That persona is inactive. Do you suppose that the person behind that persona is not active on this site?

We both know he is, although not as active...

When there was a change in software on this site I was locked out and came back briefly as some other entity. I think I posted maybe 2-3 times, mostly inquiring about what had happened. When they go tthe login issue straightened out I came back as this entity and have not inhabited that other one since. In fact, I don't remember what the user ID was (I could probably figure it out), though I do remember the password.

If I felt the need to leave I'd leave and not come back. It simply isn't worth the effort to try a new persona. On two other fora I used different names and it took everybody about 3 days to 'out' me. I cannot alter my attitudes and they come through pretty sharply. I believe that I actually could make a new persona that nobody could associate with this one. But it would require a notebook to maintain a consistent personality difefrent from my own. That might be an interesting exersize for somebody in the FBI trying to bait child molesters or Al Queda. It is of insufficeint interest to me so I'm not going to do it.

Don't misunderstand, I'm not passing a value judgement on this. I don't care whether or not somebody has other personae. I think it's kind of fun to ferret them out, but I don't really care.

It is the Internet, not life.
