Why I love my Mercedes.

A friend of mine that has a BMW 740IL rode in my 1990 420SEL yesterday and commented how quiet my car was on the inside at 70 MPH. He said that his car had much more road and engine noise at this speed. I accelerated up to 100 MPH and whispered to him - "you can tell quality many ways". I have had a chance to go to both the Mercedes and BMW factories in Germany. There is no comparison. The MB factory was miles ahead of the BMW factory in building technology and car building experience. It shows...

1993, 98,000 miles, runs good. I am not impressed with the "fit and finish" of the exterior or interior of his car. BMW's combined luxury/sport sedans don't end up doing either one (luxury or sport) very well. Mercedes did it right keeping both luxury and sport in seperate catagories (S-class and SL-class). Although the ///AMG S55 and S65 are fast enough to be in the sports catagory also.
