Speaking of Masons, have you ever read Kiplings, "The man who would be king"? Made into a movie starring Sean Connery and Michael Caine. The movie was very good but not quite up to Kipling's story.
Also, after the Templars were shut down,l several surviving temples set up shop in Portugal under other names.
