$100 rebate from government for gas

So the GOP is scrambling for something to tout to the voters coming up in the next election. Now they want to give a $100 rebate to all taxpayers. While I am all for tax cuts this is nothing more than an attempted bribe.

In the same bill they want to cut tax breaks to the oil companies.

I really don't appreciate the patronization. As for the $100, I spill more than that.

Here's a better idea. We eliminate the federal gasoline and diesel tax, and then eliminate the earned income tax credit for the federal income tax. That way the price of gas drops and eveyone pays their share of income tax-not just the middle class. The dems would hate that!

How about our legislators growing a spine and writing some anti-trust legislation that actually enforces open market practices and ends the collaboration of the oil companies? Then lets stop subsidizing them with our tax dollars and let them compete for business.

The end result, of course, would be gasoline prices that reflect the true costs in producing it, and the playing field would be open to better alternatives.

That would be great, by while they're at it , how about letting us build additional refineries in the US, drill offshore in places other than louisiana and Texas, and suppliment the bio-diesel production to where it's commercially available. We'd have the best of all worlds!

Gas is going to have to get a lot higher than it is before they'll let drilling in ANWAR and seek alternatives.

I've got a better idea - how about getting the greedy rich fuckers who screwed us all into a war to pay up? You know, like getting the people who actually have the money, the ones who loot the treasury by getting tax breaks financed by borrowed money to actually pay their fair share of taxes? And then again, there are the oil companies who get billions upon billions of tax breaks other companies don't get, financed by the middle class, why are they getting to screw us up the ass at the pump while we also pick up their tax tab as well?

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

But KV who's gonna run the economical engine that holds this country together? You need to understand that the upper strata's raison d'etre is to make sure that the middle class has jobs, pay for their utilities and bills and surely stay working to cover for their costs to maintain a "lifestyle". Why would the rich give breaks to the middle class so they can have more savings? That does not make sense because the middle class has to be put on its toes to stay lean and mean and work hard otherwise any shift in this paradigm will destroy the status quo.
Since the working class has been upgraded to middle class sometime in the eighties they have been asking too much. They need to eat crow!
You KV need to be tried for sociological sedition
