PRKA (Peoples' Rebuplik of Kalifornia) has a HUGE traditionally liberal electorate in a concetration around the Bay, LA, and they drive the state's predominantly left direction. It's not that they citizens of PRKA want it that way, but that the Inmates are running the asylum (Feinstein, et al). Die Schwarze is a centrist of the worst order: Ronald Reagan is rolling over in his gubernatorial grave.

It has always fascinated me that some of the most liberal states, such as the PRKA, Taxachusetts, New York, Oregon, etc. have Republican or at least "moderate" governors. Voters seem to like what they see as "balance."
