I'm not really sure there is anything significant to make of it, but it looks to me like, in general, the more liberal an area is the higher their gas prices--which makes sense given your point about libs loving taxes more valid. Interesting...

It has always fascinated me that some of the most liberal states, such as the PRKA, Taxachusetts, New York, Oregon, etc. have Republican or at least "moderate" governors. Voters seem to like what they see as "balance."
