Springtime

Still very early. When the Japanese marginals and ornamental grasses begin to grow and bloom, it's really something to see. All the bigger fishies are still clinging to the bottom and of course the water is murky until the beneficial bacteria kicks in and the filters can remove the funkiness.

Thanks. About 3/4 acre. The pond is 10,000 gallons. I got to play with a back-hoe. [:p]

Not to be fem, but I love flowers. If you ever get to Hawaii the whole place smells like flowers it great.

Nice pond! I decided to feed my Orfe and Carp all the way through the winter this season (observing the above 40f rule)and they definitely look fatter now they are becoming more active.
Is your spring late? You look about as advanced as us and we are about 3 weeks behind in plant growth.

RE: Springtime

Wow, your tulips are just past prime - the tulip flowers in my garden are still in tight buds.

We're a day past magnolia blossoms, forsythias and daffodils turning many gardens into blinding array of yellow.

Nice yard. I think about introducing bright-hued flowers into the garden but I really like the green and white symphony that we have - starting with snowdrops we have: magnolia (with a little pink), pachysandra, hyacinth, pear, apple, dogwood, rhodedendron, hostas, lillies and a few others whose names escape me at this very moment. The few exceptions to the white blossoms in my garden are irises with its deep purple, sunflowers, forsythia and daffodils.
