Just for a laugh,I went to look at an '82 today.I had seen it in a local specialist showroom at night and decided to take a closer look at it out in the open.It is being sold on behalf of a family estate, the owner having died a couple of weeks ago.
I think I know what killed him! There was a whole folder full of receipts going back to it's original delivery and just looking at that gave me the shivers.Over the past year alone, the guy had spent over £12k ($21k) mostly on interior work and a bit of welding but the thing still looked like a piece of shit. The only thing going for it was that the engine sounded crisp and responsive, but I didn't even bother taking it for a drive.
Asking price £16k ($28k)-if anyone pays even half that they would need their bumps feeling.
The things we do for a laffff !!! .... they will rape your bank account hard and dry and wipe it on your tie then leave you on the side of the motorway looking like you have been raped and had it wiped on your tie.. double evil ... smoke crack , base jump without a chute , buy a private pension , but take DR's wise words and have your bumps felt if you find your self drippling over one of these monsters . I had a Virage two years ago and its still hard to talk about it ..the dream and the black dog of ownership... Oh Lord won't ya buy me a mercedes benz ..or was it ...somethings got a hold of my ..................
While I was there,an XK8 convertible caught my eye.The guy says he's bringing it outside tomorrow,so I think I will head down there and take it out for the afternoon.I have never tried an XK8,so it should be fun.[:p]
