Hmm, thought I had already replied, but maybe the board was acting up.
Thanks for the tips so far, everybody!

Have friends that do this periodically. Last time I was going to make a trip with them I took a look at the airfare and decided it was a much better choice to fly.
Yeah, I have no doubt flying there would be cheaper - the tire wear alone will probably cost me more than flying, never mind the gas I'll burn. But we want to drive just for the fun of driving and seeing some countryside.

What are your primary interests? We can suggest something. Do you have kids?
We don't have kids, but there are nieces and nephews up there that we'll be hanging out with, age range 5-9 or so.
I'd be pretty happy to just drive up there, and hang out and relax. [:D]
We're both kinda geeks, so we'll probably go to a museum or two with the kids. I've gotten another recommendation for the Museum of Science and Industry from a co-worker, so that's probably on the list.
I homebrew beer, and last time I was up there, I shopped around for some beers that I couldn't buy in Georgia. I don't know whether that'll be so appealing this time around, because GA's beer laws have relaxed a lot, and I won't have much space in an SLK for carrying the beer.
My GF would love to visit a big used bookstore or something like that.
