Anyone using Pentax Digital SLR cameras??

Hi all - My old Pentax 35 ml SLR has finally bitten the dust. I was told that the Pentax digital SLR's out now will let me keep my existing lens collection - (I really don't want to buy a new bunch of lenses as well)

I know Pentax has really "never existed" as a strong contender in the digital space. So wanted to know if anyone has used one!

Tx ..........

Yupe...got one last month.Been reading tons of sites on these great Slr's.
Your old lenses will fit...they may not support the auto-focus...but...they will work....if you have the Kp bayonet mount. The screw type may also work with an adapter...but don't put money on that.

RE: Anyone using Pentax Digital SLR cameras??

Thank you !

they are bayonet type mounts ...

My old camera was a 1981 ME Super - AutoFocus is not high on my needs list :-)

http://www.dpreview.com/

One of the best digital camera review sites.
I have not been there for a while but I'm sure you can find info you need and more.

Canon and Nikon are the two main contenders in digital camera (particularly SLR) market. I have a couple Nikon 35mm SLR's (my grandaddy's F from 1964) and some great lenses (i.e. 50mm F1.4 - fast and sharp)but my digital experience has been with Canon. If I decide to go digital SLR, I have to make a tough choice.

If you go with Pentax digital SLR, please let me know how well the old lenses and new technology mesh together (I do not care too much about autofocus and other automatic feature compatibility - I care more about picture quality and the mount stability).

I will -

I have not decided yet - but I have a collection of lenses up to 300mm & I really, really don't want to have to replace them all !
