RE: A refresher on Global Cooling. errrr Global Warming

When are people going to realize what we are not changing the temperature. I have developed a system using forks and spoons to study the alignment of the star Alnair to the fourth crater from the left of the moon Crater Bürg. According to my calculations, the reason we are getting warmer is we are getting closer to the sun.If all those dumb-ass scientists would see things my way they could save themselves a lot of time.[8D]

Botnst: Who are you who are so wise in the ways of science?
Smart@ss :-)

I am quite sure your knowlede exceeds mine, In my case I qualify as a voracious reader, with a large interest in science. (particularly cosmology, astronomy and the earth sciences)

So I subscribe to a "few" publications ......

Guilty.

What you said in your two previous posts was succinct, reasonable and on point. In some circles around here, that you and I are in agreement does not work to your advantage so I tried to give you some cover.

Besides, I love that scene in "Holy Grail." It is a wonderful warning to anybody who thinks he has all of the answers. I take at least one dose of that daily, whether self-administered or force-fed by others.

PS I am beginning to believe that there is a Python quote for any given occasion.

Misfit: Cheers for that!.
The opening shot of Earth - blue planet with a bit of land - is where I'm coming from.
Such space shots show the surface only, and as has been said, the average (blue) sea depth is only 3 kilometers. All life on this planet thus lives in a ridiculously thin band that can support it.
I'm happy to let the clever ones argue here over the extent that man is affecting climate change.
Just as long as they realise that some change is occurring - NOW.
Another Krakatoa or two (read: Earth pimple bursting) - damn, that would have us scrambling!!.

Krakatoa was preceded by previous explosions in that area going back well into prehistoric times.

A "recent" event in 1815 triggered a northern hemisphere "year without summer, in which crops failed over many northern latitudes. If that happened nowadays there would be worldwide mass starvation.
