RE: Lyme Disease!

Alabama and Texas men were friends and riding together one day. They were along interstate 65 outside of Birmingham when the Alabama man observed a white-tail deer coming out of the trees. "What a nice buck!" "Aw that ain't shit!" said the Texas man. Where I live, the deer are twice that size!"

As they drove along further, a big ass rabbit cuts out in front. "Shit, look at the size of that rabbit!" screamed the Alabama guy. "Aw, that ain't shit!!" exclaimed Texas. "Where I live, the rabbits are twice that size.

As they traveled further south, they got to a swampy area when a HUGE snapping turtle was scooting along the side of the road. Texas screamed, "What the hell was THAT!"

"That?" smiled Alabama, "Why,that's a tick!"

Guy says, "Well, it keeps good time, but the sound is all wrong. All other grandfather clocks I've heard make this real distinctive 'tick-tock' sound. This one just kind of goes, 'tick......tick.....tick".

"Ahhh," says the shop keeper. Then, turning to the clock, he says, "Ve haf vays of making you TOCK!!"

Yeah, I know, it's a groaner, blame the guys above who made me remember it. [:)][:)]

I was out in the mountains the other day and I just found a tick in my room today which I could only assume followed me home. I also did find one in my hair but I didn't feel a bite.

Has anyone had lyme disease or known anyone to have it? I am not sure if I got a bite but I am a little worried. It's also too early for symptoms so I guess I'll play the waiting game.
It's pretty prevalent in the Northeast where I grew up, in fact it's named for Lyme, CN, just outside of New Haven. It's important you save the tick, as it is only carried by one particular type of tick. Just Google Lyme disease, you'll find a ton of stuff on it.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

RE: Lyme Disease!

Courtesy of Gabe Kotter:

Guy is cleaning out his closet and finds a coat he hasn't worn in 40 years, goes through the pocket and finds a claim check from Fishbiens Cleaners for a suit he had brought in to be cleaned, chuckling to himself as he remembers how slow Fishbien was and thet he probably had just forgot about it all those years ago. Then curiosity gets the best of him and her wonders if old Fishien is still alive. He decides to go down to 43rd & 3rd to see. As he enters the shop a man who appears to be a 100 years old is standing behind the counter. he approaches and says, "Fishbien?". "That's right" says the old timer. "I can't be;ieve you are still with us",he says and continues to tell him the story of the 40 year old claim check, then adds, "Wouldn't it be funny if the suit was still back there?" The old man smiles and shuffles off to the back of the store with ticket in hand. After several minutes, he returns and asks, "Was it Navy blue Seersucker?" "YES!!", shouts the mam, "It is!!".
Replies the old guy, "It'll be ready Tuesday".

guess you gotta hear me do it with the Yiddish accent.

RE: Lyme Disease!

The guy that vacuums my roof gutters has Lymes disease - I'm so glad I have personal injury insurance, I know he uses ropes and harnesses to stop falling off the roof, but I understand it can affect your balance.

He keeps saying he's goingto give it away.

I had a cousin that got it at Boy Scout camp. It was months before a homeopathic physician diagnosed it and was later confirmed by blood tests. It can affect you mentally as well as physically. He is now bi-polar with OCD. Don't let it go too long!
I'm sorry, but I just don't see how a doctor's sexual orientation has anything to do with finding lyme disease. Don't you think it's inappropriate to make a remark like that?
