Wheel bearing

You know that horrible moment when your Mercedes makes horrible noises.........

Well as I backed the 500 out of the drive this morning I thought the wheel bearing sounded iffy. Undecided I turned the stereo down and sure enough as I stopped in the road that bearing screech was there.[:(]

Got out to have a look and Good News - I don't need a new wheel bearing.

But I do need a new dustbin.[:p][:(]

RE: Wheel bearing

I can share your pain - then pleasure.
At 100Kmh my car once picked up a piece of wire that flicked around the driveshaft, caught hold (somehow) and proceeded to scare the shit out of me as it machine gunned my rear floor pan.
Only my nerves were damaged.

Done that with a traffic cone. However,it happened with my company car so I turned the stereo UP until the noise disappeared.

If you are backing out of your drive and you hear just one loud squawk, you have either nailed your cat or Thrillkill's widescreen TV.[|)]
