Wireless network

I just enter into the 21 century by installing a wireless network in my house. I can work on the Internet from anywhere in and around my house. Wife loves it, because of no more ugly wires.

no point in securing it, only makes people want to hack it more. Its not even funny what kind of programs you can use to hack wep. I have a program called kissmac that can hack them fairly fast and all the user has to do is hit a button.

Kissmac eh? I thought wireless hacking was stupid because you needed so many packets.

yes, wires are ugly. It really pisses me off when I see photos from Dell Catalog or any interior furnishings catalog that omit the reality of tangle of wires.

RE: Wireless network

Go Cingular GSM, and all you need is the card! And no WEP for Republican hackers to steal your bandwidth!

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

You do need packets.. But if you go to a busy area like at my university you have easily 30-40 people in a room on wi-fi so you pick up packets fast. I only did it for fun at school and it took about 10 mins but at home to crack my home network it took about 30mins since i basically had only light traffic from my 1 computer downloading a file. Also before you hit the hack script you can monitor the activity on the router.

Which router do you use? we started the whole wireless adventure in 2003 and I had to fight with the network for over a year until I realized my Dell Inspiron was not compatible with a Netgear router. Crap... we bought a Linksys and it works fine for some 6 months - then it needs to be reset and reconfigured. Weird stuff. It picks up the neighbor's signal pretty well though...[:D]

RE: Wireless network

I highly reccomend Fiberoptics..it is amazing!!!

If it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.
