The point being that what Dr. Sultan is saying is that the *religion* of Islam teaches that. Christianity doesn't teach that, Buddhism, no, Judaism, no, Hinduism, no, etc. etc. Have you seen the video with her discussing the point?
OK - I can agree that christianity does not *teach* it - but I still can't forgive that christians *did* it. Amidst all sorts of Papal "indulgences"
Well, don't even get me started on the Catholic church. People will *always* mislead for their own ill-gotten motives. Point being that if people read the book (Bible, etc.) upon which the religion is formed, they can check for themselves whether the "preaching" is true. (How else do you explain ridiculous crap like Heaven's Gate, David Koresh, etc.) Of course you also then have the psychos that claim God told them to kill someone, but again, that's not from the core of the religion. Are such people "Christians"? Probably not, simply because someone says they are one thing or another doesn't mean they are. Heck, I can tell you I'm Cindy Crawford, but that just means I'm either delusional, sadly mistaken or a liar.
And I will admit that I've never read the Quran, but I trust Dr. Sultan has, and her notation of many references regarding the killing of non-Muslims is frightening. Here, of course, the fanatics are apparently teaching their word, so if the followers go to check, they only find confirmation of such brutality, that "Allah" wants them to kill the non-Muslims. So if they really take the core of their religion to heart...you have the results we see.
Have you watched that video of her debating with the cleric? Man it's weird. The guy is throwing epithets at her and she is truly the voice of reason on there. Watch it (it's all translated, you don't need sound) and post back. Here is another link for it: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/86767/modern_attitude/
Or you can simply flip it all on it's head and become a Unitarian, where basically whatever you think is right for you is right.[;)]
