And the "lie" was?
Pretty obvious to me. He didn't say 50% of the population, did he?
And the "lie" was? Hint: try giving a direct quote and backing up the assertion with a map of what Iraqis control.
Typical ignorant post. Put up or shut up.
You are blind because you cannot read the map. The populated areas of Iraq are LESS than 50% of the land area. Pretty sure 50% of Iraqis are not "under control". And you are thick because you cannot find the lie implied by Cheney's misleading statement.
Do you believe the insurgency is in it's "last throes" as well? Who's your daddy?
Chippy is just too stupid to realize he has been taken for a sucker for years. Look at the map. Cheney is known for this kind of con game. A while back, he used to say that "only four of 18 Iraqi provinces are not controlled by us" - failing to mention that 95% of the population of Iraq lived in those four provinces. Now he is claiming that the Iraqi Army will "be in control of 50% of Iraq". Well, from the map, that's real tough - what's he going to do, send twenty guys out to the 50% that is unihabited? This is why this administration has lost the total confidence of the American people. They have become an insult to our collective intelligence.
Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
