Home PC Voltage ZAP protection - what's best?..
..3.54pm last Saturday afternoon, I was on my computer* when the power went 'OFF/ON' - duration about half a second. The telly (same room) came back on, my computer did not.
Just got it* back this afternoon (Tuesday). Seems my Video card was loose (might have saved other stuff from frying) but the modem is now new - the old one had been zapped.
I have a 'Zapcatcher' Level 3 multi plug thing that did nothing - ie: did not trip nor protect.
What is the best way to protect a computer from this type of event - down this way (New Zealand) our power is 240volt - so I'm more after a device type (if it exists) rather than a US Walmart named product.
