My latest project

Ashtray wood removed, clear coat removed, sanded and now with the first layer of polyurathane

Center consol removed, notice all the cracks and the faded clear coat

Torn shift outer ring. I think some super glue will do wonders

Back side view of the center consol, yes real wood! That's why you should steer away from cheap imitation

Closer view of switch connectors, got to love 80s technology: SOLID (This is coming from an electronics engineer). By the way the design traces its roots from the seventies. Good luck with newer Benz electronics.

Nasty looking change cup. I am ready to experiment with some cleaners.

Some wood working ahead of me. I think Gorrila glue with a clamp after I remove the clear coat to attain some flexibility will do

The other side too

When all is done, I will try to find a button for the mirror control. Notice all those cracks. I hope to see them gone.

Great project and pictures.
