The mention of the original Shelby Cobra brought to mind a very interesting maintenance quirk.

In order to change the battery you had to pull the engine or R&R the right cylinder head.

Nice design. NOT!!

And keep in mind that's back when battery technology was still pretty nonexistent and batteries
didn't last very long, particularly so with high-performance engines. I wonder if they sold
a "Cobra kit"; for one low price you get all you need to change the battery: intake manifold,
valve cover and head gaskets (only one each of the latter two), 4 spark plugs, 2 gallons of Prestone
and, of course, the battery.[:D]

And back to Eleanor: IMHO, the original "Gone in 60 Seconds" was a much better movie than the remake,
which did have a classier production, but was much less realistic and far too "Hollywood-ized".
