Hey, McBear. While we're tossing about every other epithetical stereotype...I thought all the folks in Ky were too busy marrying their half-siblings and cousins to be concerned with world politics. [:D]I mean if we're going to just attack people based on region, we might as well go all the way, right?[;)]

That is what I hear but I am an 'only' so I would not know about family ties as it were. I did know a couple of folks who found out that they were third cousins after they had been married 10 or so years which caused a real big stir. Seemed one of their fathers was not who they thought he was. Otherwise no drama.

But growing up in the mountains I have heard just about every insult and comment that could be made, funny just never to my face.

And just to clear it up, I wear shoes and my wife is not barefoot and preggers. And I don't live in a trailer with a bassboat and 4 wheeler. And hunting just does not have the same feel to it since SouthEast Asia when they were shooting back. So I don't hunt. Just to make things clear.

McBear,
Kentucky

Being smart is knowing the difference, in a sticky situation between a well delivered anecdote and a well delivered antidote - bear.

Hey, DR. Do you remember that country song "Rockytop" I think it would have been out when you were living on the wrong side of the pond, as it were. :) I'm trying to recall the state because your Q made me remember the verse "Once two strangers climbed old Rockytop, Lookin' for a moonshine still. Strangers ain't come down from Rockytop, reckon they never will."

On the other hand if I weren't so lazy a quick google search would reveal the answer, but I wanted test your memory banks, as it were.

What was the point of this thread originally? Oh, yes, off-topic. [;)]

No,I'm not familiar with that, but I remember very distinctly driving up the Blueridge Parkway and being unable to get that Laurel and Hardy ditty 'Trail of the lonesome pine' out of my head for the whole of the trip, much to my wife's er,amusement.
I've always been a big L+H fan and that song was a massive novelty Christmas hit in the early 80s and EVERYONE got to learn all the words by heart.
