I have my trusty Carrera. I actully won the 2004 New York Championship with it(18 and under) and qualified for nationals[:D]Too bad it was all the way in Cali[:(] Anyways, it was really muddy and everyone's bike was breaking, but it keep chug'in along...too bad I have only rode it twice since then..
Local boy does good? Sounds familiar.....

^^^
nice film. Every town&gown community ought to have a mandatory screening of movie for 'sensitivity training' [:D]

there's a nice blue 280 or 380SL making an appearance in that movie.

Lol, yup pretty much like that^^. It was my first competitive race so I'm surprised how well I did. (Or how bad the other guys sucked)

If it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.

RE: Mountain Bike Recommendations

Gary Fisher is owned by Trek so you're really getting the same thing with just a different badge.

With that, the trek's and fishers are nice bikes. For less 1000 dollars you can get an all XT hard tail with mechanical disk breaks.

To get into full suspension you have you spend more than 1000. Check out some of the Scott scale bikes. The Scale 40 or 50 might be what you're looking for. Cannondale F600 up to an F1000. With the Cannondales they use their lefty fork, which is pretty cool if you can get over the single sided thing.

RE: Mountain Bike Recommendations

No dealers in the states, that would be why I've never heard of them.

I bet it comes w/ heated seats, but yet does not have a water bottle holder because MB thinks you should be racing, not drinking[:p]
