Is 20 young? if so then i disagree!!!
Even younger -

Look up NTT DoCoMo in Japan -

Teens & pre-teens willingly buying cell devices that bombard them wih advertizing as they walk by stores.

They have devices that will even tell them where their friends are hanging out.

My daugter (15) just got a new phone - completely GPS enabled - I would disable it - she "wants" it - even though nothing in my area can use it yet ....

Some kid in one of my classes was telling me about in Korea all the phones have GPS and you can open your phone up and it will show a map with points on it and the points are your frinds so you can find where everyone is and your parents always know where you are. But so far GPS on my cell phone is dissapointing since sometimes it is off by 10+miles. But if you have an RF card all you have to do is wrap it in AL foil and bam it dont work. And as for the government spying on what we do on the internet i am concerned but what are they using this info for? and i am sure they allready have a way around google and know everything allready. Another thing to worry about is the popular sites like Myspace and Facebook where people just unknowingly and willingly give information to the government, if you think about it its a smart idea why not make a site where people enter what they do and what they like along with an up todate photo of them.

Everything you buy will soon be tagged,so pay for everything with cash[;)]Wal Mart,no surprise, is pushing for this and threatening suppliers to install them in every item,or else.

It's just a matter of time before they are implanted in humans (involuntarily).

Gillette - guilty
Wal Mart - guilty
Proctor & Gamble - guilty

and the list goes on and on..... [V]

Just one more reason not to shop at walmart.

You get in an accident - the insurance company finds out via the recorder you were doing 65 in a 30 zone.

by-by insurance ......

RE: Who's ready for their RFID ?

I have never seen the rationale for all the paranoia over identity issues. We live in the Computer Age. Everyone of you is identified already to the hilt. Making it more efficient offers a major benefit - getting illegals out of the job market, thieves from robbing us in billions thru fraud, not to mention preventing terrorists from melting into our society, where they can buy guns and explosives by using easily faked picture IDs. I see nothing wrong with some biometric database that homogenizes the process of identity. Besides, when the devil comes, he can just type *666* into the database, and find all of those he has marked, so he can easiy send their immortal souls to everlasting hell. So just check your number closly, and you'll be OK.

BTW - have any of you taken to wearing a Flashdrive around your neck like a New Age Crucifix? I have.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

-President Barack Obama, 1st Inaugural address
