Help from California residents.

Hey, i recently booked my summer vacation to L.A then from there on going down to Vegas, Palm Desert and so on. Are there any areas which i should not be passing through?

Also i need a car to hire and would preferably like a luxury rental. In mind is something like a Range Rover, Mercedes CLS or similar. I have found some internet sites via google but thought the California Residents would give me a better guide of where to go.[:)]

Cheers

My Cars : Mercedes CLS 320cdi, BMW 120d

My Bike : MV Agusta F4

RE: Help from California residents.

I am not renting cars here, so can't help you with exotics here.
Regular rental companies are very popular here and in big city you might find several of them in few minutes walk.
The bad neighborhoods in LA area are bad wrap. Try to figure out what king of "element" can afford 1/2 million dollar average house?
I make a good living here, working as a rear gunner on milk truck. Just kidding. [:D]
When you have a chance, take a trip on Catalina Island. Don't forget your swim-wear.

320CLSman there are no areas that you should avoid, the reason is that to get to Vegas from LA there is only one road in and one road out. As it is true for the other places you are going. As for renting a car enterprise is your best bet. There are plenty around. As for geting a high end car good luck. The best enterprise has is lincoln or cadillac. You wouyld have to go somewhere in LA to get something better and you will pay a lot for it. I would stick with a cadillac or lincoln from enterprise, it will probably be 80 dollars a day for those cars. Let me know if you have more ?'s

Yeah, you can practice your Chinese in San Francisco.
Lot of people put poor neighborhood with danger one.
I have found Mexican people living in poverty are not violent and theft there is almost non-existent.
Can't think about really bad neighborhood in California, although downtown Oakland comes to mind.

On my last couple of trips to L.A.(Jan & Feb) I've rented a Ford Explorer from Hertz for $56.00 a day,( bus pickup at LAX) but that is declining the insurance, I provide my own coverage.

As far as the bad parts of town, just don't stare
at any one person too long.

Why do you have a bad part of town? Why can't you stare at people there?

RE: Help from California residents.

Cause in the bad part of town they only make $20 an
hour at their jobs.
So they have too stand on street corners and doorway stoups, selling the soles of their shoes, an guys
like me who can afford to buy the sole of a shoe (at a $1 a sole) can slap you on top of the head with them.

Thats why in the bigger cities you see all the sole less shoes discarded on the side of the road and hanging from the power lines.

P.S.
They just don't care for people who stare, it's their
custom, so I don't stare.

Some people don't like to be stared at and some people like to strap bombs to there belly's and set they off in a crowd of people.

P.S.S.
some people are the sons an daughters of Nazi prison guards, and some are the sons and daughters of the men & women you fought to set the prisoners free.
