am surprised no one has mentioned the following yet:

During Christmas season 1984 (or was it 1983?), people formed loooong lines at toy stores in order to snag one of these dolls; at now defunct FAO Schwartz the line snaked around several NYC blocks.

I remember it as one of the original Christmas gotta have presents.

they escorted her to her car after she checked out!

loved those planes, used to cost like 2.50au, and boy was it hard to save up. I remember getting my first Nintendo double screen DK game. It was so cool, it went everywhere with me. Also those parachute guys with plastic chutes and crap.

Cheers,
Aaron

I had a Cabbage Patch and one of those anatomically correct dolls. My mom thought they were so progressive.

How scary is that? Two BW members with the same old relic 1980's Nintendo's. Used to wear my Member's Only Jacket, listen to Duran Duran on my way cool Sony Walkman and dream about someday getting cable so I could watch videos on MTV.

My first job was working Christmas season at Toys R Us. The year of the Cabbage Patch invasion. What a nightmare.
