RE: New porsche 911 type 997

Maybe it's just me but I really don't get all that excited about what Porsche puts out these days.It looks nice but I feel the essence of what Porsche used to be no longer exist! Man I miss the original 911s' [V]

Fantastic car.

I test drove an 03 Turbo Cab the other day. It was a great car but felt slower than it actually is.

I like Porsche's but everyone I have had has been labor intensive. The SL's seem to do the same things with more isolation and less fanfare, while at the same time being more reliable.

Specs are unbelieveble for this new 911 Turbo...

480hp, 620Nm (680Nm with limited 10sec. 0.2 bar overboost)

It's the first petrol powered engine using a turbo with variable turbine geometry.
115.000 Euro's for the car in germany.

Need to amend your statement it is the first petrol powered engine using a turbo with variable turbine geometry from the factory. They are nothing new to the aftermarket.

That's exactly the attitude adopted by GM which has seen them slip and slide into the 'mess' they find themselves in today.

I'm expecting as much power with less weight from my 930 rebuild. If I get around to it.
