"walmart is an evil, unethical company"

It is, you know Wal-Mart has convinced us that everything should be cheap. No matter what it takes to get you that every day low price. Cheap labor, cheap materials. Why should it cost more than $20 bucks for a microwave? Quality is long gone and Wal-Mart is infecting the world.
You are correct. Although I refuse to feed the beast. I will not shop or do business of any kind with walmart.

Thats your choice, and its a good thing.
I do not believe using the hammer of government legislation on private corporations is a good thing.

Oh, and since the "Wal-Mart" bill went so well, they have now introduced a Bill to lower the threashold to many businesses.

Here in the "Free State" the dems have had unilateral control of the entire governemt for about 50 years. We currently have a Republican governor ONLY becasue the dems ran a pathetic candidate--Kathleen Kennedy Townsend.
The dems are out to correct that error. This year the dems in the legislature have --
passed over the governor's veto:
A Bill to require WalMart to specn *% of its payroll on health care or pay the difference to the State.
A Bill to allow early voting--up to 5 days before the election.
A Bill to permit anyone to vote in any jurisdiction in the State by using a provisional ballot, and letting the election judges decide which ballots are valid. ( I forsee a bus convoy taking democrat "poll workers" on a tour of the State, voting in every jurisdiction, and then complaining if any of the ballots are denied.
They are also trying to pass a Bill to permit ALL ex-felons to vote--not just non-violent ones, but murderers and rapists, and child molesters.

Maryland Democrats refuse to require any identification to vote; you simply state your (alleged) name and address, and are given a ballot.
Maryland Democrats have refused to review the voting machines used here. Diebold, without any paper record. One repuiblican presented evidence of voter fraud in that several machines in republican districts for the last election showed no ballots casr, while the election records shows that there were, indeed used. Diebold does have machines which have a"paper trail" but the Maryland Dems don't want them here.

Yes, liberal democrats run a great government!
Is there any doubt that two party rule is better than a monoply, regardless of which party has the monoply?
Your mind is made up before you think.
Shane,
Thats a rather mindless reasponse. Are you a MD democrat?!

That's why we call it the People's Socialist Republic of Maryland.

If you decide to leave, let me know. I have some Salvadoran friends who want to buy your house.

You mention of your Salvadoran friends reminded me that MD democrats want to issue State drivers licenses to illegal, i.e. undocumented workers. The driver's License is the closest thing we have to a national ID card, and they want to make it easy for illegals to get.

I generally agree with you but when you have an company with a department to help you get on public assistance and a concerted effort to keep people from working the number of hours required to qualify for insurance something should be done.

By not providing health care, Walmart is foisting it's health care costs onto the taxpayer. Why can't the taxpayers foist them back?

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
