Now I see why the military is there. The people want their current president out after she virtually admitted to rigging the elections in 2004(sound familiar) by 1 million votes. So we send our military over there to make sure she stays in power, despite what the populas wants. Read up on the "Hello Garci" scandle if you don't know what I'm talking about.
