did you buy your someone else a present?

did any of you buy anything for your sweetie?

what is it?

i havent bought anything and i guess i have to-- i just dont want to be thought of as needy or showy or poor or unthoughtful.

theres got to be a happy medium with this... it cant be so black and white as to be whitmans vs. godiva, can it?

maybe its my training-- i look for meaning where none really is anymore, but i just feel like if i spend too much, ill look needy or showy, if i spend too little, then im poor and/or not so interested.

Took one of my friends to Red Lobster..

Gave another a stuffed animal(well Im going to leave it in front of her door...

If it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.

RE: did you buy your someone else a present?

I spent about an hour writing "I love you" and "you complete me" romantic stuff like that on pink sticky notes. When she went to be last night I plastered them all over the kitchen cubbords so it would be the first thing she saw when she walked in the kitchen.
Funny thing is she didn't notice them the first time or the second time.
I left for work and shortly after getting here my phone rang. It's my wife at the back entrance.
Weird.
So I go to the door and I hear this song "how sweet it is to be loved by you" and it's coming from this HUGE balloon.

It's the simple things in life. The notes meant more to her than any expensive chocolate or champagne and the balloon made me smile for hours.
Not to mention my co-workers are having a blast walking by and tapping it so it will play the song. Due to the enourmous size of the balloon it acts like a loud speaker and it's quite loud and obnoxious.
Still means a lot to me.
Happy Valentines day everyone. :)

Absolutely. Get a Rosé - Veuve Clicquot is probably most famous for it or you can still go for a California, Australian or Spanish bubbly without breaking the bank or looking cheap.

It's kind of a wrong occasion but a copy of "The Gift of Magi" by O. Henry always comes in handy when you're stuck for gift ideas.

RE: did you buy your someone else a present?

i didnt go the adult route with liquor, chocolates or flavored body oils--

instead, i bought a dozen red, white and pink bic cigarette lighters and printed them(with printing press ink-- no presses used[:D]) with assorted fun conversation heart phrases

such as: be mine, xoxo, i *heart* you... so on, so fourth.

i glued them with hot glue to silk flower stems and arranged them in a redish printmaking paper in a bunch[:)] i even put fake babys breath in there heh heh

so now every time he lights a cigarette, blunt or candle... for the next year or so, he'll hopefully say 'aww' internally[:)] thats the plan at least.

im also wearing my cutest sweater today-- my gift for all of humankind[:p]

It's not a bad cigar if you want to spend under 30 bucks. I am not like some of these guys who think you need to smoke a Macanudo Vintage 1997 No. 1 to impress fellow smokers.

Freude am fahren!
