Roch207 - 2/6/2006 8:46 PM THis will cripple our economy and drive us into 3rd world status. Look at New Orleans if you want to know what the US will look like. We will then be like the great Romans. All of their advances destroyed in a flash.
We should be so lucky. Rome wasn't destroyed in a day you know. It took hundreds of years.
We should be so lucky.
True, but there was no such thing as backpack nukes in Roman times.

it happens that they can’t get qualified science and math teachers because they don’t pay enough and most importantly schools (staff & principals) will not support teachers in disciplining students that are rowdy or simply out off the frame mind of learning (social or personal problems). It’s political correctness that’s killing our education. I personally will not teach high school
Agreed, and since most colleges are now an extension of high school, the problem extends as well. I taught at the State University of New York, and along with the brilliant, motivated, hard-working students (there were several), and the average students (there were many), there were a fair number of kids that shouldn't have been in college at all. I felt sorriest for the first group--they were the ones getting shafted--and began to dream of teaching at Princeton one day [:I]
What SUNY school did you teach at?

If it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.
