RE: Peaceful Religion
[QUOTE]Naomilla2.0 - 2/6/2006 12:26 PM
Sure there were outrages, except peace protests by moderate islams are not newsworthy compared to the clip of Palestinians rejoicing the 9/11 attacks.
Yeah, moderate outrage, not riot like over a cartoon. I don't remember hearing them protesting like this either. But a few of my Muslim friends were upset about the attack on NYC. Because they lost friends working in there too. No, I am not saying all Muslim. Just the fanatics.
Do you think the entire islamic world danced on the streets? I had the fortune of travelling to Turkey two weeks after 9/11, before the aggressive US foreign policy was set in motion, and all the locals we came across condemned the attacks and were deeply saddened by the loss. We had the world's sympathy, but some idiot obliged to OBL's masterplan and widened the islam-western rift, giving an opportunity for extremist views to raise their ugly heads on both sides.
I'll be happy to dance in a rally for mutual understanding (yes, very naive and idealistic, I know).
we are in agreement then. In all fairness, I would ask islamic fanaticists (basically a mirror image of you) to stay home too. Mixing xenophobes in one room is a sure recipe for disaster.
Sorry to disapoint you. I have been to the sandbox a few times already. done my duty.
In parting, please explain how is American 'blood and genes' different from 'their genes' in the following:
Vietnam was a war nobody wanted. Can't comment on that, wasn't old enough then.
Abu Ghraib was a shame, but not violent like killing them or beheading them. I don't agree with what they did, after all , they got their days in court, right?
All is all, I am not saying all Muslim should go back, just those who disagree or are not happy with the way of life we have here.
